I’m taking this opportunity to share an e-mail about volunteer opportunities this 2015 spawner season (Chum and Coho Salmon) with Stoney Creek Environment Committee.
Contact Alan prior to attending. Cancellations will occur if the weather is very wet and the creek is particularly turbulent.
This can be hard work. It requires certain protocol. Volunteers need a SCEC membership. For those who have good observation skills and don’t mind getting wet, taking part in the spawner survey can be very rewarding.
Hi, Streamkeepers.
Last week, Roger Dyer and Alan Russell counted 150 Chum and 4 Coho in Stoney Creek.
They could use some help to count fish this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Jennifer Atchison Environmental Centre, 2730 Beaverbrook Crescent, on the north end of the Stoney Creek Community School grounds. Close to Lougheed Mall in northeast Burnaby.
If this notice is too short for this weekend [ed. reposted Oct 29], please come out on one of the other scheduled days:
Sunday, November 1
Saturday, November 7
Sunday, November 15
Saturday, November 21
Sunday, November 29

If you can’t come on the weekends, please come to one of our regular meetings:
