We had 18 participants on the Nature Walk tonight.

The walk started as Krystal, Education Coordinator of Burnaby Wildlife Rescue was demonstrating what to look for when spotting bear claw marks.
…with her arms wrapped around backwards to demonstrate how a bear scratches its back on a tree.

Suddenly someone in the crowd shrieked “like that!?” There were 3, deep, bear claw gashes right under Krystal’s hand!
On the parallel side of the tree were another set of deep gashes! as a set.

Everyone got into it and had a good time. Young and old alike shared knowledge of the nature.

There were a few mosquitos but none too devastating.
The walk finished just before dusk at 8pm.

We plan another walk mid-September 2010.
I’ll post here exact dates.
